Live Lesson Science 1.15pm. Own classes - Is a liquid always runny? We can think about the ‘thickness’ of different liquids. VISCOSITY is the scientific term for how thick a liquid is. If a liquid is thick it is VISCOUS. You are going to plan an investigation to find the thickest liquid. You will need: -A slope (your whiteboard or a tray.) -Liquids – toothpaste, syrup/honey, milk, washing up liquid, water, yoghurt, tomato ketchup or another sauce. -a spoon -stopwatch (timer with a second hand) Carry out a ‘trickle’ test, timing how long it takes for a spoon of each liquid to travel down a slope of FIXED HEIGHT. The one that takes the longest is the most viscous. Write up your experiment using the title: WHICH IS THE THICKEST LIQUID? Use the headings – Prediction, equipment, method, results, conclusion. |
Live Lesson – PSHE 1.30. Own Classes and have your spelling scores and any concerns or questions about the week ready.
Ask how a child of their age might feel in a changing situation by discussing emotions. Are the emotions conflicting? Which emotions can be grouped together? Are some more positive than others? What might happen to a child’s body inside and out when they are experiencing these? Ask how the body might behave and record ideas in metaphor and as drawings. For example: butterflies in the stomach; tongue tied; dry mouth; as quiet as a mouse; stomach in knots; etc. Why is understanding how emotions may affect us inside and outside important in helping us manage situations/changes? Draw pictures of the different and changing emotions. |
