We are going to be learning about Chinese New Year this week.

Watch the Chinese New Year story below.

This year is the Year of the Ox. Can you find out which year you were born in and which animal you are? Can you create a picture of your animal and label it?

Watch Preparing for Chinese New Year below.

The children make some decorations in the video.

When do you have decorations in your house?

Can you draw a picture or make a decoration?

Look at the Chinese Numbers and the Chinese Letters below.

Could you have a go at writing your first name in Chinese? Can you write a Chinese number to say how old you are?

The Chinese believe that dragons are a symbol of good luck. Watch the Dragon Dance clip. Can you see how the dragon is moving?

Can you draw a picture or create a dragon of your own?

You could use cardboard tubes, play dough, construction toys or use your own ideas.

Do you like to eat Chinese food?

Can you have a go at drawing a picture of your favourite food and writing what it is?

I like sweet and sour chicken, rice and prawn crackers J
