Here are some videos to help with multiplication.  The top video is a great video which shows exactly how we do it in school.  The second two are American, and show a similar method to our Whitwell way.  They show the carry numbers being carried to the top, but we carry our numbers underneath.  Both methods and identical apart from that.  Hope this helps.
