Power Maths Unit 11 Time
This unit will develop children’s ability to tell and write the time to five minutes, including quarter past and quarter to the hour. Children will know the number of minutes in an hour and hours in a day. Children will solve problems using these new concepts and previous learning, including word problems, and comparing and sequencing questions.
Power Maths Unit 12 Problem Solving and Efficient Methods
This unit brings together the key ideas of number that have been addressed in previous units and provides an opportunity for children to practise all four operations. The use of the bar model is consistent throughout as this method allows children to clearly see which operation is needed to complete parts of a question at any given time. A focus throughout the unit is to ensure that the methods that children use are as efficient as possible. Children must justify their choice of methods.
