We expect every child to read at least 10 pages at home, at least once a week and to have their reading diary signed by an adult. This is collected on a MONDAY morning. Reading diaries stay in school from Monday to Friday so they are always available. The children will bring them home each weekend. Children will earn 10 wellians for reading homework and will be fined 5 wellians if it has not been completed. They can read every night and receive additional wellians as long as their diary is signed.
Spelling homework is handed in on FRIDAY morning. New spellings will be given out the same day. Children need to practise each spelling at least 3 times and can write their spellings into sentences too. Children need to complete their spelling homework in their spelling homework book. Children will earn 10 wellians for completed spelling homework and will be fined 5 wellians if it has not been completed.
Maths homework is handed in on THURSDAY morning. New maths homework will be given out on FRIDAY. Children will earn 10 wellians for completed maths homework and will be fined 5 wellians if it has not been completed. Maths homework will be given in a maths homework folder.
The children will be given a learning log to complete each half term. The children will have four weeks to complete their learning log based on our topic work. The children will be able to choose one task to complete from a selection of tasks. They will then be marked and an award given based on effort: gold (20 wellians), silver (10 wellians) and bronze (5 wellians).
You can hand in any homework earlier than the hand-in date if it has been completed earlier.
