Hello!

Please keep attending the live lessons as we are covering new learning that we will continue in school.

IMPORTANT UPDATES:

  • It is World Book Day on Thursday the 4th of March. Please come to the live lesson dressed in witches/wizards/magical costume. We have planned activities on that day based on World Book Day choose from the activities on the website.
  • You have received an email about how to use PDF extra to write on PDF documents that are worksheets. You can use the pen tool on PDF or PDF extra to write on your PDF documents and email them to me for your Maths work this week at shelbywhite@whitwell.derbyshire.sch.uk.

The home learning for Year 3 is on my class page below. The home learning for Year 4 children is on Miss Webster’s class page.

The timetable and activities for the week are attached on the website above (click on the ladybird). Please plan breaks and I hope you are making lots of lovely, fun memories with your family while at home. You can choose to complete the activities and lessons that are not planned for a live lesson in any order during the day. Please complete the work only on the day set. I have attached the PowerPoints as PDF files too in case you are unable to open the PowerPoints.

We really enjoyed seeing you at the live lessons last week. Please keep attending as we are covering new learning that we would have been covering in school at this time and that we will continue to cover when we return to school. We also really enjoy being able to see you all and find out how you are finding time at home. Keep checking the live lesson timetable and your reminders and calendar on Microsoft teams for updates. Although the live lessons state they will be for the full hour on the timetable they may not last the full hour. We will text you which team on Microsoft teams to join with the live lesson time, as a reminder before the live lesson. Please do not complete the work for the live lesson before the time of the live lesson. We are also setting assignments on Microsoft teams to complete for some lessons please check the timetable for when an assignment is set that you can complete your work on and receive feedback on.

We hope you are enjoying the work on purple mash as we really like the website! Please let us know! We will be using purple mash activities throughout this time please email your class teacher if you do not have your login. Your login should have been in a home learning pack that you have collected or have been emailed to you. The work on purple mash is in the 2Do's section for you to complete and hand it in, it will then be marked and returned to you. I have also set up a class blog for you to post and share things that you have been learning about at home on purple mash. Don't forget you can also email me on 2email on purple mash to ask me about the learning or tell me about something you have been doing at home. Sometimes the work for purple mash stays in the 2Do's section if you have already completed it you do not need to complete it twice unless it has been sent back to you with improvements to be made.

It was lovely to see pictures of your work and things you were doing at home last half term. It would be lovely to hear from more of you too so please keep in touch if you need any help or would like to show your work and get feedback. Please keep sending work and pictures of your learning at home to my email address and I will upload them to the class page. Please also let me know if you have any questions and I will try to respond as quickly as I can. My email address is shelbywhite@whitwell.derbyshire.sch.uk for if you would like to contact me.

Reminder! Please continue to use accelerated reader to test on your books as you can now change your book every week on your allocated day and at your allocated time. Please also keep practising your times tables on times table rockstars this is really useful for the topics that we are covering in Year 3 and Year 4 maths lessons at the moment.

I am looking forward to a new week of learning and hope you really enjoy the activities that we have planned for you and the live lessons. See you soon!

Miss White
