Patterns in the ice

There was lots of ice outside in the garden when we came to school. 

The children explored the space and made marks in the ice - can you spot the happy faces? smiley

They then discovered that when they moved the equipment there was no ice underneath!

We talked about what had happened and tried to find as many different patterns as we could before the ice melted in the sun.
