Our science topic is all about nutrition and the skeleton. The children will learn to identify nutrients that humans and animals need. They will plan a healthy meal and explain why certain nutrients are important. The children will learn about the function of the skeleton and the different types of skeletons that animals have. They will complete an investigation based on muscles.
Our history topic is on the Tudors. The children will learn about Henry VIII and his wives. They will identify the differences between the lives of the rich and poor in Tudor England. Finally we will learn about Tudor food.
In Computing the children will look at the work of different artists and recreate this on the computer using the 2paint program on Purple Mash.
In music the children will learn to explore different beats in a bar. They will learn pieces of music with different beats in a bar.
In DT the children will learn about seasonally produced food and will follow recipes to create meals using different produce.
In PSHE/SMSC the children will discuss different jobs and occupations. They will learn about different ways of paying for goods and the importance of saving money. At the end of the unit the children will find out what a stereotype is and will be reminded of anti-bullying.
In French the children will learn to speak, listen to, read and write French months of the year. We will look at aspects of life in France and look at using a french accent.
