Week of June 1st

This week all the activities are based on 'fine motor skills'.

Monday

  • Scissor skills
  • For this activity you will need a pair of small scissors and a few small tubes. If you do not have any tubes in the house you could ask an adult to make you some using rolls of paper and some sellotape.

  • Can you cut the tubes in different ways?
    • snipping the edges
    • making a fringe along the top of the tube
    • cutting the tube in half from top to bottom or across the middle
  • You could draw a face on the tube and use your scissors to give it silly hair.
  • Ask a grown up to help you if you can not remember how to hold the scissors correctly.

Tuesday

  • Weaving
  • For this activity you will need
    • some long strips of paper, pieces of cloth, wool or newspaper
    • a wire cake cooling tray

  • Can you use your fingers to thread the material or paper in and out of the wire tray to make a pattern?
