Literacy

We are going to do some work around day time and night time this week.

Watch Owl Babies below.

Can you create a picture of mummy owl and her 3 babies?

You could draw, paint or collage them.

Watch Owl Babies again. Can you talk to a grown-up about how the owls were feeling at different parts of the story?

Can you draw a picture of what you might look like if you are happy, sad, worried and cross?

Owls are nocturnal. Can you find out what nocturnal means?

Can you find out any other animals that are nocturnal?

Can you remember what happened in the Owl Babies story?

Can you draw a story map and tell a grown-up the whole story?

Can you use different voices for the owls, especially Bill the baby owl?

Can you make a poster all about owls?

You could draw an owl and then write some short sentences about it (It eats mice, it is a bird, it can fly – or you could write some of your own).

There is a Word Mat below to help you.
