Our English this term starts by looking at stories with fantasy settings. We will start by reading a story called G.E.M by Jayne Clarke. This story set in space explores the feeling of jealously and how this can effect us. The main character Gark becomes so jealous of his friends that his green eyed monster (G.E.M) gobbles him up! Our next story is called The Chocolate Planet. The two main characters live on a planet where there is nothing to eat but turnips. Eventually they become fed up with this and decide to explore a planet that is close by. Will they find what they are looking for or will they get eaten by the ferocious Moondog?
The second part of the term will focus on information texts. Our work will be based around chocolate and we will be exploring packaging, what information is displayed on it and how as well as finding out about the history of chocolate.
