Home Learning Spring 2021

Hello

We hope you are all well.

We will be using this page and our 'Tapestry' app to provide you with activities to support your child at home.

We will update this information regularly so feel free to join in with as many of the activities as you would like to.

We understand that this is a difficult and unique time for us all.

We know that for many of you, it may be a juggling act around working from home, self isolating, and supporting your other children in their learning and only ask you to do what you can.

We will do what we can to support you.

Please do not worry if your child does not want to join in with a particular activity  These activities are  suggestions to help their learning over the next few weeks.

Please join in with whatever you and your child are comfortable with.

Last term the children in Nursery were provided with a 'home learning pack' to take home.

This contained an A4 blank book, 10 cubes and a pencil in a clear bag.

We will be using these resources, and objects from your home and garden, for our activities.

If you did not receive this pack it will be available to pick up from the main school office.

It would be lovely to see when the children do any of the daily activities at home. It is easy to upload photos to the Tapestry app for us to see. The photos will only be seen by Mrs Draycott and Mrs Harper.

During the national lockdown last year over 200 photographs were uploaded to Tapestry and it built up a fascinating record of the activities the nursery children did when they were not at school.

We introduced our new Tapestry app at our Spring Parent's Consultations. This is an easy to use and secure online learning journal helping staff and families celebrate their children's learning.

If you not registered on Tapestry we will be contacting you by email or text to explain how to set up Tapestry on your phone or computer while your child is at home.

We look forward to receiving photos and pictures of the children completing the tasks.

If you have any questions regarding using Tapestry or any of the activities on this page feel free to email me at sarahdraycott@whitwell.derbyshire.sch.uk

Keep safe and we hope to see everybody very soon
