In Year 3 the children will continue the multiplication and division topic and learn to divide a 2-digit number by a 1-digit number. They will then move onto the topic of fractions and will learn about unit and non-unit fractions. The children will learn to count in tenths and find a fraction of a set of objects.
In Year 4 the children will start their topic on fractions. They will learn to count in tenths and find equivalent fractions. The children will learn that fractions greater than one can be improper fractions or mixed numbers. They will then find out how to add and subtract fractions and solve problems involving adding and subtracting fractions.
