Day 2
Day 2
I cannot believe I’m saying this, but an actual good night’s sleep was had by all. I don’t know if it was the copious amount of sweets, the sea air, or the sound of the seagulls nesting in the eaves, but all the children woke in fine spirits and in a great mood. The children wolfed down their breakfast and were so excited to get on the coach for our first visit.
When we arrived at Osborne House, we were greeted by glorious sunshine, a cool sea breeze, and a tour guide ready and waiting. We took a tour of the grounds and the house. We explored where Victoria’s children ate and played, and how they lived. We saw the royal bathroom and the bed where she slept. There were amazing artefacts, awe-inspiring artwork, and priceless pieces of history. I am only telling you all this because the only thing your children will tell you about it will be the scantily clad statues and paintings littering the house… lots of giggling!
After our delicious ham sandwiches, we arrived at Amazon World to see some of the animals there. There was a lovely collection of reptiles and tropical birds. We saw red pandas, capybaras, and tapirs. The children even fed and stroked the wallabies.
After we had demolished our chippy tea, we got our costumes on and headed to the beach. We finally got a taste of the sea that we had been looking forward to all day. Boy, was it cold!
After our showers, we are ready for the England game! We have our snacks, we have our shirts, but most importantly we have a massive TV to watch it on!
IT’S COMIN’ HOME!!!
P.S. I have been adding pictures to the SharePoint throughout the day so feel free to keep checking in to see what we are up to.
