Science

As scientists, we will be investigating forces! We’ll build on what we learnt in Key Stage 1 and discover how pushes and pulls can make things move, stop, or even change shape. But that’s not all. We’ll explore contact forces like friction (why things slow down or speed up) and amazing non-contact forces like magnetism (how things can move without even touching!). We can’t wait to experiment, test ideas, and find out how forces are all around us every day. It’s going to be full of exciting investigations and mind-blowing discoveries!

History

As historians,  we’re going back in time to explore the amazing world of the Anglo-Saxons! After the Romans left Britain, everything changed, and we’re going to find out exactly how. We’ll discover who the Anglo-Saxons were, where they came from, and why they decided to settle in Britain. We’ll learn what life was like in their villages, what they believed, and how they shaped the country we live in today. And the best part? We’ll become real history detectives! We’ll investigate incredible archaeological finds like the famous Sutton Hoo burial, piecing together clues from the past to uncover secrets about this fascinating time in history.

Art

As artists,  we’re going to explore some of the world’s most amazing buildings. We’ll travel through time and across cultures to see how architectural styles have changed, and we’ll discover the secrets behind famous landmarks like St Paul’s Cathedral, the Taj Mahal, and the Sydney Opera House. Then it’s our turn to be artists! We’ll sketch and paint our own ideas, experimenting with colour, pattern, texture, line, shape, form, and space to create designs that are as bold and brilliant as the buildings we’ve studied.

French

We’re continuing our exciting French journey, and this time, we’re learning all about musical instruments! We’ll discover how to read, say, and write the names of 10 different instruments in French. Imagine being able to talk about guitars, drums, and pianos in another language! By the end of the term, we’ll be able to impress everyone with our new French words and maybe even create our own musical sentences. C’est fantastique!

Computing

We’re going to become coders! That means we’ll learn how to give computers instructions and make them do amazing things. We’ll explore the world of coding, creating our own programs and solving fun challenges. By the end of the term, we’ll be able to make things happen on screen, just like real programmers!

PSHE

This term we’re finding out all about keeping safe, because staying safe is super important! We’ll learn how to make good choices, look after ourselves, and keep safe in different situations, whether we’re at school, at home, or out and about. We’ll talk about things like who can help us, how to stay safe online, and what to do if something doesn’t feel right. By the end of the term, we’ll be safety superheroes, ready to protect ourselves and help others too!
