Maths
The children will be following the Power Maths scheme.

Year 2
The children will first focus on multiplication and division.
- They will learn to use arrays and solve multiplication sentences.
- They will learn to divide by sharing.
- They will understand the 2, 5 and 10 times tables.
- They will learn to double and halve.
- The children will recognise odd and even numbers.
The children will then focus on fractions.
- They will learn to recognise and find a half, a quarter and a third.
- They will find the whole.
- They will learn about unit and non-unit fractions.
- They will understand the equivalence of a half and two quarters.
- They will recognise three quarters.
- The children will count in fractions up to one whole.
The next topic will focus on time.
- They children will learn to tell the time to O'clock, half past, quarter past and quarter to.
- They will then tell the time to 5 minutes.
- They will learn about the number of minutes in an hour and the number of hours in a day.
