Today started with a lie-in! No-one was up before 7.30am...no first morning stroll, which we normally have to do for excited children. So the staff treated ourselves to a lovely quiet cuppa!
After a large breakfast of cereal, scrambled egg or beans on toast plus more toast, we set off to Carisbrooke Castle. We spent the morning exploring the museum, climbing the towers and finding out about Charles 1st.
We enjoyed a walk around the walls, saw the views from up high and then ate our picnic lunch by the donkeys.
After a quick transfer to Shanklin we began our mini - golf tournament. It was grey and overcast but everyone loved the game and there were surprising holes-in - one for Evie, Poppy and Aleshia. Well done to the girls!
Then Josh won a prize for the end of game 18th hole!
Next, we took a stroll along the seafront and the steep climb up the chine. Some were out of breath! The sweet shop was a huge success. So much choice and some demolished before we even left the village.
Now we are back at the hotel for an hour and our tea - fishfingers, sausages and chips on the menu with apple crumble and or ice-cream.
