WHITWELL PRIMARY SCHOOL ARE CURRENTLY IN FIRST PLACE IN THE MEDIUM SCHOOLS!

  • increase participation in competitive sport.

Congratulations to our newly trained Playmakers who are now going to deliver active lunchtimes with a team to others.

 

Monday 6th February – Y1/2 Gymnastic Festival at Heritage High School (Jolly Jellyfish)

Jolly Jellyfish had a springy time at the gymnastic festival.

 

Tuesday 28th February – Y5/6 and Y3/4 Cross Country at Whitwell Primary School

Well done to our A, B and C teams for competing. Special mention to the Y5/6 boys A team on finishing 1st again.

 

Well done for a great run from our Y3/ 4 teams! Huge congratulations to the Y3/4 boys who won! Great news for Cory, who finished 2nd and Isobel, who finished 3rd on being invited to the District Cross Country Finals at Mount St. Marys.

Great work guys. We are so proud of you all! The Y6 boys team won and Cory finished in 10th for his first district experience-WOW!

A huge congratulations to Oliver on his nomination for Junior Sportsperson of the Year 2016 due to his contribution to golf within the Bolsover district.

Friday 26th Feb 2016 - Change4Life Champions 

Congratulations on being chosen to be Change4Life School Champions.

During their training they had the pleasure of meeting Ben Pipes, Team GB Volleyball Captain.

 

The Champions are planning and preparing to lead a new Change4Life Club starting Tuesday 19th April.

Well done to the KS1 Dance club for perfoming a fantastic routine to Uptown Funk. You made everyone so proud. Many thanks to Mrs Smith for taking the time to prepare and teach the routine.

Well done on the team finishing 3rd in their first ever tournament.

Many thanks to Mrs Boldero-Gray and Mr Moore for running the tag rugby club.

 

Fri 18th March 2016 - SPORTS RELIEF ALL children took part in the Sainsbury's Sponsored Mile. ALL children ran, jogged or walked at least 1 mile. Many children used the event as intra-competition against their friends to see who could do the most laps- with some children completing 3 miles in 15 minutes!!!

Thursday 21st April and Friday 22nd April 2016 -  ROW TO RIO CHALLENGE at Whitwell Primary School

As part of our Olympic celebrations we took part in the 'Row to Rio' Challenge alongside the Bolsover Sport's Partnership. The distance between Bolsover District and Copacabana (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) is 9379 kilometres (km) or 5828 miles. As a Cluster, our aim is to 'Row to Rio'! Our children rowed on rowing machines for 2 days. The children loved taking part and had lots of fun!
