English
Year 2 English (For information about English in Year 1 please see Miss Brown's class page).
In English we will start by learning to write an information text based on habitats. Then we will focusing on the SPAG skills linked to the Year 2 curriculum and focusing on SATS practise.
We will be doing some work throughout the week focusing on the spellings we have set for homework.
Our English curriculum:
The children will start by reading the text and looking at the key features of it. The children will learn the key spelling, punctuation and grammatical skills needed to write the text. Finally the children will apply these skills to write their own version of the text that we have focused on. The children will also be learning to use the reading toolkit to develop their understanding of different texts that they read.
