Foundation Subjects

Science

As scientists, we will be investigating forces. We will develop our knowledge of what we learnt in Key Stage 1, understanding why push and pull forces move objects and change their shape. We will also learn about contact forces like friction and non-contact forces like magnetism.

History

As historians, we will be stepping back in time to the fascinating world of the Victorians! Children will discover what life was like over 150 years ago, when Queen Victoria ruled and the world was changing fast. They’ll explore the strict rules of Victorian schools, the incredible inventions of the Industrial Revolution, and the huge differences between the lives of rich and poor people. We will develop curiosity and a deeper understanding of how the past influences the present. 

Art

As artists, we will be looking at famous buildings from around the world. We will discover different architects and take inspiration from their work, using colour and texture to create our own building design.

French

In French, we will be learning all about Les instruments (instruments). Together we will learn the names of 10 instruments. We will practice listening skills and learn how to write the names of the instruments in French. We will also practice speaking in French, learning how to say the different instruments.   

Computing

In computing, we will be looking at spreadsheets.    

PSHE

Together we will be looking at keeping safe.
